TomorrowNow Executive Director was interviewed on CNBC Africa about how we are connecting next generation weather and climate technologies with farming communities for climate adaptation.
Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt – TomorrowNow’s Executive Director Georgina Campbell Flatter was hosted on CNBC Africa to discuss the role of TomorrowNow leading climate adaptation work in Africa, and share some of the exciting partnerships that were announced at COP27 in Egypt.
Our work at TomorrowNow is focused on leveraging private sector solutions and tech to ensure that the least equipped in society adapt and act in a changing climate, especially smallholder agricultural producers who are helping to feed our planet.
“Smallholder farmers produce 60 percent of the world’s food yet they are least equipped to adapt to climate change.TomorrowNow exists to help them access transformative weather & climate technologies leveraging partnerships” – Georgina Campbell Flatter (Executive Director, tomorrownow.org.
In highlight, our Executive Director brought attention to the AIM4C announcement we made at COP27 and provided specific examples about how we are already on our way to impact millions farmers with next generation weather technologies.
TomorrowNow is sprinting to reach more than 20 million farmers by 2025. This is a bold approach but possible, considering that we are serving a million farmers now already through partnerships with farmer-facing organizations such as the Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organization (KALRO).
