TomorrowNow Celebrates Women Leadership & Innovation on International Women’s Day 2025

TomorrowNow honors the women team members who are helping us drive our mission of empowering millions of smallholder farmers with next generation weather services....

AfricaInternational Women’s Day 2025 was not just a moment of reflection for TomorrowNow—it was a powerful celebration of women who are leading with vision, courage, and creativity to shape the future.

As the world continues to evolve, TomorrowNow’s values are built on the premises of fostering diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment across every facet of society.

This year, we took the chance to highlight and honor the phenomenal women on our team who are helping drive our mission of operationalizing next-gen weather services for millions of smallholder farmers at the frontlines of climate change.

Each story highlights why “Hope & Opportunity” matters to us and why it’s critical that we #BreakTheBias in everything that we do to ensure that we empower others to make a real difference within our communities.

Here’s what they had to say:

Isabella Akpabla, Project Assistant, tomorrownow.org

Every career has a turning point, and for me, that moment came when I met our Managing Director Asiedua Amoah.

She introduced me to the world of climate tech and provided the opportunity that set my journey in motion.

I still remember when she encouraged me to explore the field, telling me to “do some research” into the industry. That simple prompt led me to research an industry I knew little about at the time. The more I learned, the more I realized the impact and innovation happening in climate tech—and I knew I wanted to be part of it.

Beyond just introducing me to the field, Asiedua played a pivotal role in expanding my understanding. She took the time to help me navigate an industry that was new to me. What once seemed like unfamiliar territory quickly became a space where I could see both opportunity and purpose.

Looking back, I recognize how significant that initial encouragement was. It wasn’t just about discovering a career path—it was about stepping into a field where I could contribute, grow, and make an impact.

Georgina Campbell Flatter, Board President, tomorrownow.org

I’m constantly inspired by the women in my life—my mother, sister, daughter, family, friends, and the incredible women I work alongside—who are leading the charge (and by example!) across the sectors, communities and lives they touch.

Across my networks, I see women innovating, solving tough challenges, and building a more resilient and prosperous future every day.

This International Women’s Day, ‘Accelerate Action’ is a call to back them—to break barriers faster, invest in their leadership, and ensure that opportunities to create, lead, and thrive are open to all. The solutions are here, and women everywhere are driving them forward with vision, determination, and impact.

Betty Kingori, Project Manager, tomorrownow.org

While reflecting on #InternationalWomensDay, we asked tomorrownow.org team member Betty King’ori to answer two quick questions.

We hope that you’ll be inspired by her responses as we did!

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡—𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?

Effective climate action demands both innovation and strategic execution. By combining technical rigor, data-driven decision-making, and operational efficiency, we can drive real, scalable impact.

My shift from engineering to climate tech was fueled by a desire to apply these strengths—along with problem-solving expertise—to build solutions that enhance long-term sustainability and resilience.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓’𝒔 𝑰𝑾𝑫 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆 “𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏” 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖? – “𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 “𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏” 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌?”

“Accelerating Action” to me is about empowerment and inclusion. Women are pivotal in driving and embedding sustainable solutions within their communities.

Equipping them with leadership opportunities, resources, and platforms—especially in STEM industries—doesn’t just foster equity; it unlocks innovation and amplifies impact.

When women lead, sustainability scales, and societies thrive.

Sharon Kioko, Project Manager, tomorrownow.org

Actionable and timely weather information empowers farmers to make better decisions on the farm & optimize scarce resources such as farm inputs and water.

According to tomorrownow.org team member Sharon Kioko, access to the right information can transform lives AND #AccelerateAction represents moving beyond discussions to implementing scalable, data-driven solutions.

“Working at the intersection of climate, data, and development, I’ve seen firsthand how access to the right information can transform lives. My journey—from economics and development studies to management consulting for global impact, and now driving next-gen weather solutions for smallholder farmers at TomorrowNow—has been about bridging knowledge gaps and fostering action.

To me, this year’s #InternationalWomensDay theme #AccelerateAction means moving beyond discussions to implementing scalable, data-driven solutions. Whether in climate resilience or development, we must bridge the gap between innovation and on-the-ground impact—because the communities we serve can’t afford to wait.”

Asiedua Amoah, Managing Director, tomorrownow.org

Theses words by our Managing Director, Asiedua Amoah, couldn’t be more profound as the team at TomorrowNow remains dedicated to building and sustaining the partnerships we need to help communities achieve climate resilience and prosperity:

“Let your passion and curiosity fuel your journey, empowering you to break boundaries and shatter glass ceilings. Knock on doors, seize opportunities, and embrace the strength, resilience, and magic that women bring to the world.

This Women’s History Month, let’s accelerate action—there’s no better time than now to amplify our collective care for the planet and uplift the voices of women everywhere. Whether through bold moves or small acts, every step forward matters. The time for change is now!”
